Governor Dikko Umaru Radda has described the death of Alhaji AbdulRahman Ado Ibrahim, the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland in Okene, as a ‘heart-wrenching loss’ that is irreparable.

The illustrious Ohinoyi died on Sunday at the age of 94. According to a family member, Alh. Ado Ibrahim passed away around 2am at a hospital in Abuja.

The deceased monarch assumed the office of Ohinoyi of Ebiraland in 1997, after the death of the former Ohinoyi, Sanni Omolori.

According to Governor Radda, aside from the good people of Okene and Kogi State, other teeming Nigerians, especially those who the first class monarch touched their lives positively, will find it difficult coming to terms with the reality of his glorious exit.

“It is with deep grief and rude shock I offer the condolences of the Government and people of Katsina State to my brother, Governor Yahaya Bello and the entire people of Kogi State.

“Indeed, Alh. Ado Ibrahim was one of the highly-venerated and distinguished traditional rulers in Nigeria. He was a leader that was genuinely passionate about the development of Kogi and Nigeria, in extension.

“As we collectively mourn his death, let us all be consoled that he lived a life dedicated to serving humanity, regardless of their social status. Alhaji Ado Ibrahim’s uncommon personality is one that will remain towering even with his passage.

“May Allah pardon his noble soul. Ameen. We also pray that his family and the people of Kogi State, be granted the fortitude to bear the painful exit of the Ohinoyi,” Radda said, in a condolence message, issued by his spokesperson, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed.

Investigations by Nigerian Concord Newspaper reveal that the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers Council, Mr. Pius Akutah, has allegedly misappropriated public funds for a lavish lifestyle.

According to our findings, within months of assuming office, Akutah allegedly purchased a bulletproof SUV valued at approximately N850 million. In addition, he is reported to have acquired over twenty exotic SUVs for use as a convoy.

Akutah is also said to have acquired multiple high-value properties, including three in Abuja’s Maitama and Asokoro districts worth over N2 billion, and two in Lagos’ Banana Island valued at N1.8 billion. These acquisitions appear far beyond the scope of his official salary and allowances.

Further investigation suggests that Akutah may be using public funds to support political ambitions, including allegedly grooming militants across 23 local government areas in Benue State for a potential 2027 gubernatorial bid.

Staff of the Shippers Council reportedly claim that Akutah frequently accesses the council’s treasury without proper authorization. Some insiders have indicated that a petition will soon be filed with the EFCC, ICPC, and the Presidency to report his alleged misconduct.
