Governor Radda Receives 35 Abducted Civilians Rescued by Military Troops

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda on Monday received 35 abducted persons rescued by troops of the Nigerian Army.
The victims were recently kidnapped by armed bandits in Tashar Nagulle and Nahuta in Batsari local government area of the state.
They were however, rescued and handed over to the Governor at the Katsina State Government House by the Commander, 17 brigade of the Nigerian army, Brigadier General O.A Fadairo.
Speaking at the occasion, Governor Radda thanked the Almighty Allah for rescuing the victims without any casualty from the security operatives or the hitherto abducted civilians.
He maintained that success is being recorded in the fight against banditry.
He said: “Many terrorists in Katsina have been killed, with their camps dislodged and a lot of weapons recovered through the joint efforts of security operatives in the state”.
While commending the efforts of the army and other security operatives, the Governor reiterated that his administration will deal with persons ‘romancing’ with terrorists in the state.
He said the Katsina State Government has also introduced free medicare to victims of bandit attacks, and allowance to security agencies, as well as educational support to those who lost their parents during violent attacks of terrorists.
Governor Radda donated N100,000 each to the 35 rescued persons for them to revive their normal business when they arrive home.
Earlier, Brigadier General O.A Fadairo, said the victims were rescued at Dumburum Forest after an intensive gun battle between soldiers and the bandits.
Investigations by Nigerian Concord Newspaper reveal that the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers Council, Mr. Pius Akutah, has allegedly misappropriated public funds for a lavish lifestyle.
According to our findings, within months of assuming office, Akutah allegedly purchased a bulletproof SUV valued at approximately N850 million. In addition, he is reported to have acquired over twenty exotic SUVs for use as a convoy.
Akutah is also said to have acquired multiple high-value properties, including three in Abuja’s Maitama and Asokoro districts worth over N2 billion, and two in Lagos’ Banana Island valued at N1.8 billion. These acquisitions appear far beyond the scope of his official salary and allowances.
Further investigation suggests that Akutah may be using public funds to support political ambitions, including allegedly grooming militants across 23 local government areas in Benue State for a potential 2027 gubernatorial bid.
Staff of the Shippers Council reportedly claim that Akutah frequently accesses the council’s treasury without proper authorization. Some insiders have indicated that a petition will soon be filed with the EFCC, ICPC, and the Presidency to report his alleged misconduct.
