A teenage girl who was found straying alone in the streets of Lagos for about four days has now been identified. She is Evelyn Mallo, a native of Ron Kulere in Bokkos LGA of Plateau state.

The video of the stranded girl went viral on the social media as people kept wondering what she was doing on the lonely streets with fresh wounds on her leg and in the middle of the COVID-19 lockdown that was declared in the state by government.

Luckily for her, concerned Nigerians began asking questions on her identity and in the video, she picked some words in her local dialect to confirm she is from Plateau.

However, another source Pwajok Princes Nvou said, “until the time she was seen on the street, Evelyn stays with her mum” and had communicated with her father “through chats about a week informing the father of the wound she sustained on her leg before the Video of her on the streets went viral”

The father who confirmed this, according to the source, the video then attracted other concerned Plateau groups among which was was the Ngas Development Association, NDA, Lagos branch who quickly contacted the Plateau State liaison officer Elder Amos Dasen.

A joint manhunt for Evelyn was launched by the NDA officials and the liaison officer and the girl was located at “Ajose Adeogun street Victoria Island” where a search for medical assistance commenced with most of the hospitals of pharmacies turning turning them down for fear of COVID-19.

where we went and picked her and proceeded to the hospital for medical attention for the wound on her right leg which she confirmed is paining her.

.

“We have had to call a Doctor friend who directed us to Kuba Hospital at Ebute Metta East where the wound was dressed, injection and drugs were administered on her before we proceeded to NAPTIP office at GRA Ikeja where the Zonal commander and Evelyn’s father whom we have communicated were waiting for us”, NDA Secretary William Gonen disclosed.

The girl is now in the custody and care of NAPTIP for rehabilitation and further medical attention before they will finally hand her over to the parent.

Investigations by Nigerian Concord Newspaper reveal that the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers Council, Mr. Pius Akutah, has allegedly misappropriated public funds for a lavish lifestyle.

According to our findings, within months of assuming office, Akutah allegedly purchased a bulletproof SUV valued at approximately N850 million. In addition, he is reported to have acquired over twenty exotic SUVs for use as a convoy.

Akutah is also said to have acquired multiple high-value properties, including three in Abuja’s Maitama and Asokoro districts worth over N2 billion, and two in Lagos’ Banana Island valued at N1.8 billion. These acquisitions appear far beyond the scope of his official salary and allowances.

Further investigation suggests that Akutah may be using public funds to support political ambitions, including allegedly grooming militants across 23 local government areas in Benue State for a potential 2027 gubernatorial bid.

Staff of the Shippers Council reportedly claim that Akutah frequently accesses the council’s treasury without proper authorization. Some insiders have indicated that a petition will soon be filed with the EFCC, ICPC, and the Presidency to report his alleged misconduct.
