Destiny Udogie Begins Pre-Season Training with Tottenham Hotspur
Destiny Udogie, the Italian U21 international of Nigerian heritage, has joined Tottenham Hotspur for pre-season training, nearly a year after his transfer to the club. Udogie had signed for Spurs in August 2022 but was immediately loaned back to Udinese to aid in his development.
The official Tottenham Hotspur Twitter account confirmed on Wednesday that Udogie had met with newly appointed manager Ange Postecoglou. The 20-year-old defender had an impressive season with Udinese in Serie A, contributing three goals and four assists in 33 appearances.
Udogie’s talent and potential have earned him high regard at Tottenham Hotspur, providing him with an opportunity to showcase his skills to the club’s new manager during pre-season training. However, he will face competition from Ivan Perisic, Ryan Sessegnon, and Ben Davies for the left fullback and wingback positions in the upcoming season.
Having previously been part of the Hellas Verona youth team, Udogie is contracted with Tottenham Hotspur until the conclusion of the 2026-2027 season.
