Kaduna: Police Gives Cover To Land Grabbers To Illegally Occupy Federal Govt. Quarters, Occupant Alleged
From Lateef Taiwo
Some occupants of the Federal Government Quarters located across Kaduna state have alleged that the men of the Nigerian Police have aided the illegal activities of some top officials of the Presidential Implementation Committee (Federal Government Landed Property) to have a carve out on their landed property.
According to one of the victims who pleaded anonymity alleged that policemen of the Kaduna Command in their numbers, who were fully armed forcefully gain entrance into her premises between 10:00am and 11:00am on Friday last weekend.
The said occupant also alleged that the ‘Court Order’, which was earlier obtained restraining further actions on the properties were blindly ignored by the police.
“On their recent action, there was no any Court Order served on us before the Police bulldozed their way into the premises, giving cover to some people who came to erect fence for a carve out on our landed property.
” We are pleading with the IGP to come to our aid and we are calling the attention of the presidency to the illegality going on, as it have become trend that the Police Commissioner connived with land grabbers in Kaduna state,” the occupant alleged.
The occupant however, said that the IGP is a good man who supports justice, adding that the IGP should come to investigate the matter in the interest of justice.
In the document obtained by our reporter shows that this occupant (name witheld) had stayed in the said premises for 30 years as a civil servant with the Federal Government before it was leased to her by the Federal Government through the PIC as is.
Also, in another document obtained titled: ‘Implementation Committee Of The White Paper On The Commission Of Inquiry Into The Alienation Of Federal Government Landed Property’ shows that an offer of a leasehold interest in FG landed property in the state was granted to her.
Parts of the said document dated 12 December, 2022, which constitute the terms of an understanding between the occupant and the FGN in respect of the lease of the property reads:
” You have been offered the Property by virtue of you having satisfied the FGN that you are an entitled civil servant/public officer in accordance with the published guidelines. As you are aware, the offer is not assignable, negotiable or transferable in any manner.
” Please note that, if it is found that you have accepted an offer on any other residential property from the FGN, this Offer will stand forfeited and all sums paid pursuant to this Offer will be forfeited.”
In an interview with the occupant, she explained that all her documents are intact, this is just as she said that she has not in any way gone contrary to the terms of understanding between her and the PIC.
“I was surprised that the Commissioner of Police whom I had an interface with on the issue told me to cooperate or else the property will be revoked. On that same day, while I was with him in his office, his men were already in my house and bulldozed their way into the premises when nobody was in the house, and started shooting on the air.
” I am speaking on behalf of other affected people that the people in the authority should come to our aid and investigate the matter. I have being intimidated and harassed”.
” It is a great surprise that the Police who is ought to spare head law enforcement took up the prime centre to disobey Court Oders, duly served, but instead disregarded proceedings and supported illegality against innocent citizens,” she explained.
However, all efforts made by our reporter to reach the Kaduna Police Public Relations officer on the matter proved abortive, as he failed to either respond to text message forwarded to him or respond to several calls.

Pius Akutah’s Alleged Fraud at Nigerian Shippers Council Uncovered
Investigations by Nigerian Concord Newspaper reveal that the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers Council, Mr. Pius Akutah, has allegedly misappropriated public funds for a lavish lifestyle.
According to our findings, within months of assuming office, Akutah allegedly purchased a bulletproof SUV valued at approximately N850 million. In addition, he is reported to have acquired over twenty exotic SUVs for use as a convoy.
Akutah is also said to have acquired multiple high-value properties, including three in Abuja’s Maitama and Asokoro districts worth over N2 billion, and two in Lagos’ Banana Island valued at N1.8 billion. These acquisitions appear far beyond the scope of his official salary and allowances.
Further investigation suggests that Akutah may be using public funds to support political ambitions, including allegedly grooming militants across 23 local government areas in Benue State for a potential 2027 gubernatorial bid.
Staff of the Shippers Council reportedly claim that Akutah frequently accesses the council’s treasury without proper authorization. Some insiders have indicated that a petition will soon be filed with the EFCC, ICPC, and the Presidency to report his alleged misconduct.
