Kwara Gov lauds Council Boss on infrastructure development
Stephen Olufemi Oni, Ilorin
Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has lauded the foresight and vision of the Chairman, Transition Implementation Committee (TIC) of irepodun local government area, Comrade Jide Oyinloye and his team for embarking on projects that have direct bearing on the lives of their people.
The Governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Seifudeen Aliyu Mohammed, spoke at the commissioning of projects executed by the TIC, elated that “the various projects presented for commissioning fell in line with the aspirations and goals of my administration for Kwarans.”
AbdulRazaq, however, charged the people for whom the projects were done to reciprocate the good gesture of the TIC by taking proper care of them, including all other infrastructure in their respective domains.
He reiterated the commitment of his administration to the continuous implementation of projects that touch the lives of the citizenry, particularly the downtrodden, while urging other local governments to take a cue from the noble deeds of Irepodun local government.
In his welcome address, the TIC Chairman, Comrade Jide Oyinloye, had commended Governor AbdulRasaq for allowing the Local Government Councils in the State to operate without undue interference, noting that this accounted for the successful execution of the meaningful projects by his administration that have bearings on the lives of their people.
The Council Boss, who disclosed that they were commissioning the first phase of the projects, assured the people that the second phase of projects would be spread across the entire wards of the local government area.
He said: “I appreciate the massive support my administration had received from the State Government and the good people of the local government area, including traditional rulers, religious and community leaders, as well as political Office holders at all levels of Governments. I promise to continue to give priority to the infrastructural development of the area.”
Highlights of the event included the empowerment of 55 widows across the eleven wards of the LGA with money to begin small scale enterprises by the wife of the TIC Chairman, Mrs Esther Olufolake Oyinloye, and presentation of five motorcycles to security outfits in the LGA for security surveillance.
Projects commissioned included a modern abattoir at Ajasse Ipo Kara Market, Shopping complex in Omu Aran, renovated Council Hall at the Local Government Secretariat and an operational vehicle for the office of the Chairman.
Dignitaries who graced the occasion included top political office holders, traditional rulers, religious and opinion leaders, and stalwarts of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Pius Akutah’s Alleged Fraud at Nigerian Shippers Council Uncovered
Investigations by Nigerian Concord Newspaper reveal that the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers Council, Mr. Pius Akutah, has allegedly misappropriated public funds for a lavish lifestyle.
According to our findings, within months of assuming office, Akutah allegedly purchased a bulletproof SUV valued at approximately N850 million. In addition, he is reported to have acquired over twenty exotic SUVs for use as a convoy.
Akutah is also said to have acquired multiple high-value properties, including three in Abuja’s Maitama and Asokoro districts worth over N2 billion, and two in Lagos’ Banana Island valued at N1.8 billion. These acquisitions appear far beyond the scope of his official salary and allowances.
Further investigation suggests that Akutah may be using public funds to support political ambitions, including allegedly grooming militants across 23 local government areas in Benue State for a potential 2027 gubernatorial bid.
Staff of the Shippers Council reportedly claim that Akutah frequently accesses the council’s treasury without proper authorization. Some insiders have indicated that a petition will soon be filed with the EFCC, ICPC, and the Presidency to report his alleged misconduct.
