A Kaduna based Anti Corruption Corps, Kaduna State has petition the Acting Managing Director of Bank of Agriculture Mr Alwan Ali Alhassan over misappropriation of funds and also called for his suspension.
The Director, Dr. Abdullah Maina Gimba, Anti Corruption Corps, kaduna state in a petition made available to newsmen in Kaduna, the petition also copied to the office of the Vice President, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senate Committee Chairman on Agriculture, House Committee Chairman on Agriculture, DSS, and EFCC.
They alleged that the Acting MD has purchased a fleet of official vehicles worth over 250 million naira for personal and unofficial use.
The group alleged that despite receiving a substantial sum of N10 billion from the Federal government in 2022, he failed to utilize the funds, following the Bank’s budget.
The group also accused the Acting MD for non-payment of salaries from September to October.
The petitioners called for the constituting committee to thoroughly investigate the allegation they raised against the Ag. MD during his tenure.

SUBJECT: URGENT PETITION AGAINST THE ACTING MANAGING
DIRECTOR OF BANK OF AGRICULTURE

Dear Sir,
RE: PETITION AGAINST THE ACTING MANAGING DIRECTOR. BANK
OF AGRICULTURE. MR ALW AN ALHASSAN
We submit this petition to draw your esteemed attention to the concerning
activities of the Acting Managing Director of the Bank of Agriculture (BOA). Mr.
Alwan Ali Alhassan. We believe that immediate intervention is necessary 1o
address issues of ineptitude, financial misconduct. and high-handedness under his leadership.
Allegations and Concerns:
1. Financial Irregularities:
– Mr. Alwan Ali Alhassan has purportedly mismanaged funds, as evidenced by
the purchase of 2 fleet of official vehicles worth over 250 million naira for personal
and unofficial use.
2. Non-Payment of Salaries:
Under his leadership. the Bank has faced several financial mismanagement
fund to the non-payment of salaries for two consecutive months (September and
October)
3. Misuse of Duty Travel Allowances (DTA):
– There are reports of the Acting MD withdrawing substantial amounts under the guise of Duty Travel Allowances, especially during travels to his residences in Abuja and Kano.
4. Misappropriation of Government Funds:
– Despite receiving a substantial sum of 10 billion naira from the Federal
government in 2022, the MD allegedly failed to utilize the funds according to the Bank’s budget, warranting an investigation.
5. One-Man Show Approach:
– The Acting MD has allegedly undermined the Bank’s mission by running it as a one-man show, particularly in the disbursement of agricultural loans, sidelining
established procedures.
6. Violation of Recruitment Procedures:
The Acting MD is accused of violating recruitment procedures, bypassing
interviews and examinations in staff employments.
7. Questionable Payment of Ransom:

-The Acting MD’s payment of a reported 100 million naira as ransom during a
kidnapping incident has raised questions about the source of such a substantial
amount.
8. Bypassing Governance Structure:
– Despite the existence of a Board and Executive Directors, the Acting MD has
allegedly bypassed the governance structure, contributing to high-handedness and
reckless decision-making.
Call to Action:
In light of these serious allegations and concerns, we implore the Federal Ministry of Agriculture to take urgent action:
1. Suspension and Investigation:
– Suspend Mr. Alwan Ali Alhassan from his position as Acting MD pending a
comprehensive investigation into the allegations raised.
2. Constitution of Investigative Committee:
Form a Committee to thoroughly investigate the financial and managerial
conduct of the Acting MD during his tenure.
3. Restoration of Governance Structure:
-Reinstate adherence to the established governance structure, involving the
Board and Executive Directors in decision-making processes.
We believe that a swift and thorough investigation is crucial to safeguard the
integrity and mission of the Bank of Agriculture. Your prompt attention to this
matter is paramount, and we trust that justice will be served.

Its important to note that the MD last year have gathered people from
various states across the Nation that loan will be distributed to them.
It’s Very unfortunate how our people from the villages use to sleep on the
streets. lt’s very unfortunate that forms were given to them with nothing
useful, majority of them couldn’t afford their transportation fees back to
their localities they turn-out to be beggars on the street, what a shame,
this act resulted to numerous insults on our Dear president Bola Ahmed
Tinubu.
People are saying that he is a traitor, it is very unfortunate that
this incidents happened close to election, he gathered people and refused
them the money that they are due after everyone knew that money have
been given to him almost 10 billion naira he gave no one a single kobo.
Majority of the applicants have met the criteria but he have been creating many stories. He is an enemy of this administration, he have deceived Nigerians despite the facts that agriculture is the root of our
economy. He is a traitor, incompetent, unqualified, an enemy of progress.

The Member representing Ekiti/Isin/Irepodun/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Raheem Tunji Olawuyi Ajuloopin, has strongly condemned the recent attack in Idofin Odo-Ashe, Oke-Ero Local Government Area of Kwara State, describing it as a cowardly act that seeks to disrupt the peace and stability of the community.
Hon. Ajuloopin, in a statement personally signed by him, expressed deep concern over the unfortunate incident and sympathised with the victims, their families, and the entire community affected by the dastardly attack, emphasising that acts of violence have no place in a civilised society, and therefore urged security agencies to intensify efforts in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
While commending the swift response of both the federal and Kwara State governments, as well as the security agencies and local vigilante groups, the lawmaker reiterated that the fight against insecurity requires collective responsibility, calling on traditional rulers, community leaders, and residents to remain vigilant and cooperate fully with security operatives by providing timely and credible information.
“Security is everyone’s business. We cannot afford to leave the safety of our communities solely to government agencies. Every citizen must be actively involved in safeguarding our environment and ensuring that peace prevails,” Hon. Ajuloopin admonished.
He reaffirmed his commitment to continued collaboration with relevant authorities to ensure that lasting peace in all parts of Kwara South and beyond.
Hon. Ajuloopin also appealed for calm, assuring that both the federal and state governments are working tirelessly to address the root causes of insecurity and prevent future occurrences.

Governor Umar Namadi is currently in Cairo,Arab Republic of Egypt, attending the Third High-Level Ministerial Meeting on Rice Self-Sufficiency, holding from October 7th to 9th, 2025, in Cairo and Sakha.

Sociopolitical activist Aisha Yesufu has accused Nigerian political leaders of perpetuating what she described as a “political genocide” against Christians in Northern Nigeria.
Yesufu made the remark on Tuesday in response to American comedian and TV host Bill Maher, who recently alleged that Nigerian Christians are facing coordinated attacks.
Maher, speaking on his HBO show, said, “I’m not a Christian, but they are systematically killing Christians in Nigeria. They’ve killed over 100,000 since 2009 and burned 18,000 churches. These are the Islamists, Boko Haram.”
Reacting via her X handle, Yesufu criticized what she called hypocrisy among Nigerian politicians who express concern over Christian persecution yet supported the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket during the 2023 elections.
“You are shouting that Northern Christians are being persecuted, but you championed a Muslim-Muslim ticket! Their Christianity was not Christian enough for you during the 2023 election,” she wrote.
She concluded by calling for greater attention to what she termed the “political genocide” against Northern Christians, urging consistency in both words and actions when addressing religious and political marginalization in Nigeria.
