Omowunmi, the widow of the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has made a heartfelt appeal to Nigerians.
In a recent Instagram post, Wunmi shared that this is her first birthday since her husband’s passing, and she is asking Nigerians to honor Mohbad on her special day instead of celebrating her.
Wunmi described Mohbad as not only her husband but also her best friend and confidant. She expressed that the greatest gift Mohbad left her was their son, Liam, and urged his fans to pray for his spirit.
She wrote, “This is the first time in many years that I’ll be celebrating my birthday without my husband. He was not just my husband but also my best friend, confidant, and more. On my birthday, I want his fans to celebrate the life he lived.”
Wunmi continued, “I kindly ask everyone to pray for the spirit of Ilerioluwa. Whether you pray silently or post his picture on your profile, please take a moment to remember him. Let this day be dedicated to him rather than to me. He gave me the greatest birthday gift by giving me our son, Liam, who I will cherish forever. Please celebrate Mohbad.”
