NDE Flags Off Orientation For Community Based Training Scheme In FCT

As efforts to ameliorate the suffering of the people and reduce the poverty index of the country, the national directorate of employment, NDE federal capital territory has flagged off orientation for 18 trainees under the vocational skill development department.
Director General of the NDE Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo represented by Director North central Zone, Mrs Olayinka Olayemi said the directorate will continue to initiate and develop programs that will eradicate poverty in the land and improve the living conditions of Nigerians.
Fikpo said, the training will last for three months and participants will be trained on computer operation, fashion and design, and encouraged the lucky participants not to jeopardize the opportunity but conduct themselves well throughout the training so that they can get the requisite knowledge needed to explore in their choice of skill.
Also speaking, FCT state coordinator of the NDE, Mr. Chimereze Noble urged participants to be of good behavior, and be committed to their training, as they are many who are longing for such opportunity but couldn’t get it, adding that the NDE has invested so much to actualize this, hence should be treated with seriousness so that the purpose of which it was initiated will not be defeated.
In the same vein, Director Vocational Skill Development Head quarters, represented by Hajia Bilikisu Jimada said the skills the participants will gain through the training shall equip them to be economic self reliance and urged them to be serious.
Appreciating the NDE on behalf of all trainees, Mr IFeanyi Awo thanked the NDE Management for the golden opportunity given them by the federal government through the NDE and promised to make good use of the opportunity.
Investigations by Nigerian Concord Newspaper reveal that the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers Council, Mr. Pius Akutah, has allegedly misappropriated public funds for a lavish lifestyle.
According to our findings, within months of assuming office, Akutah allegedly purchased a bulletproof SUV valued at approximately N850 million. In addition, he is reported to have acquired over twenty exotic SUVs for use as a convoy.
Akutah is also said to have acquired multiple high-value properties, including three in Abuja’s Maitama and Asokoro districts worth over N2 billion, and two in Lagos’ Banana Island valued at N1.8 billion. These acquisitions appear far beyond the scope of his official salary and allowances.
Further investigation suggests that Akutah may be using public funds to support political ambitions, including allegedly grooming militants across 23 local government areas in Benue State for a potential 2027 gubernatorial bid.
Staff of the Shippers Council reportedly claim that Akutah frequently accesses the council’s treasury without proper authorization. Some insiders have indicated that a petition will soon be filed with the EFCC, ICPC, and the Presidency to report his alleged misconduct.
