Authorities have reported that Oba Adejuyigbe was stabbed on Monday, July 29, 2024. The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) received a report of the incident around 2:45 p.m. at Bryant Lane.
The victim, a 47-year-old man, was transported to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The suspect, identified as Akiba Kasale Meredith, 53, had fled the scene on foot but was found shortly after. She has been charged with murder and taken to the Beaufort County Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing.

Man Confesses to Killing His 65-Year-Old Father in Niger State
Mizanmil Abubakar, 29, has confessed to killing his biological father, Abubakar Adawa, 65, in the Barin-Sale area of Minna, Niger State. The Niger State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, detailed the crime in a statement released on Tuesday, July 30, 2024.
On July 29, around 10 a.m., the Kpakungu Police Division received a report that Adawa was missing from his residence. Police officers, led by the DPO, visited the residence and questioned Mizanmil Abubakar and his mother, Aisha Abubakar. A search of the compound revealed Adawa’s dismembered body buried in a shallow grave.
During questioning, the son admitted to the murder, citing deep-seated hatred for his father. He confessed to using a hoe to kill and dismember the victim before burying him. The investigation is ongoing, and the accused will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Minna, for further scrutiny and prosecution.
