Traditional ruler Lawal Idris, who actively participated in the burial rites of the deceased, revealed that the grim toll continued to mount even after the initial interment. He disclosed that six additional bodies, all male, were discovered post the burial, bringing the total casualties to 56. In a glimmer of hope amid the despair, soldiers arrived in the community late Tuesday, marking a pivotal moment in restoring a semblance of security to the traumatized village. Idris expressed gratitude for the presence of security forces, noting that their arrival has emboldened many displaced residents to return to their homes despite the recent horrors.
