Police arrest ‘kidnap, killer’- suspect of lawyer’s daughter Nabeeha in Abuja

Police in Abuja have apprehended Bello Mohammed, 28, the alleged ‘kidnap and killer’ suspect connected to the abduction of Nabeeha, the daughter of a staff member of the National Population Commission (NPC), and Michelle, the teenage daughter of lawyer Oladosu Folorunso Ariyo. The arrest took place on January 20, executed by the Tafa Divisional Police Officer, acting on intelligence that led to a raid on a hotel in the Tafa Area of Kaduna State.

Upon apprehension, the suspect, Bello, was found in possession of N2.25 million, suspected to be proceeds from the kidnapping activities. During interrogation, he purportedly confessed to being part of a gang responsible for the abduction of the family members of Barrister Ariyo in Bwari, FCT, on January 2. Shockingly, the gang reportedly killed some of the victims in their camp located in Kaduna State.

The initial incident occurred on January 7, when armed kidnappers wearing military camouflages invaded the residence of Barrister Ariyo at Sagwari Layout Estate in Dutse around 7:30 pm. Four of his wards were abducted during the attack, and tragically, Michelle was later killed by the criminals. Her body was dumped along Kaduna Road. The assailants further threatened to harm the remaining three children and the wife if a ransom of N60 million was not provided.
