Prime Video’s Latest Release: ‘A Young Time Ago’

‘A Young Time Ago’ is Prime Video’s newest release, offering viewers a gripping story of redemption and second chances. The movie centers around an ex-convict who reflects on a past filled with revenge that took an unexpected turn. As fate presents him with an unforeseen opportunity, audiences are taken on a journey to witness how he seizes this second chance.
Directed by Tolu Awobiyi, also known as Lord Tanner, in collaboration with Dade Wade Productions, the film boasts a talented ensemble cast that includes Timini Egbuson, Wale Ojo, Daniel Etim-Effiong, Sophie Alakija, Mofehintola Jebutu, Sandra Okunzuwa, Tolu Osaile, and others.
The director, Tolu Awobiyi, made the announcement on Instagram, sharing the movie’s synopsis and revealing its debut on the streaming platform. Awobiyi had expressed his deep attachment to this project earlier in the year, stating, “I have had this one on my heart since 2013. It was my very first story…the one my heart really wanted to tell the world. I carried it around for years wondering when, who, where and finally we sold it, we’ve told it and soon we’ll share it with you all.”
‘A Young Time Ago’ adds to the list of highly anticipated movies to watch out for this month as it makes its debut on September 1, 2023. The film is produced by the creators of ‘Breaded Life,’ which also features Timini Egbuson and ‘Couple of Days.’
Some portions of the movie were shot at the University of Ibadan, adding a college backdrop to the story, reflecting the theme of youthful exuberance and its consequences.
‘A Young Time Ago’ will be available for streaming directly on Prime Video through a licensed direct release deal, promising an engaging and thought-provoking viewing experience for audiences.
Investigations by Nigerian Concord Newspaper reveal that the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers Council, Mr. Pius Akutah, has allegedly misappropriated public funds for a lavish lifestyle.
According to our findings, within months of assuming office, Akutah allegedly purchased a bulletproof SUV valued at approximately N850 million. In addition, he is reported to have acquired over twenty exotic SUVs for use as a convoy.
Akutah is also said to have acquired multiple high-value properties, including three in Abuja’s Maitama and Asokoro districts worth over N2 billion, and two in Lagos’ Banana Island valued at N1.8 billion. These acquisitions appear far beyond the scope of his official salary and allowances.
Further investigation suggests that Akutah may be using public funds to support political ambitions, including allegedly grooming militants across 23 local government areas in Benue State for a potential 2027 gubernatorial bid.
Staff of the Shippers Council reportedly claim that Akutah frequently accesses the council’s treasury without proper authorization. Some insiders have indicated that a petition will soon be filed with the EFCC, ICPC, and the Presidency to report his alleged misconduct.
