Senator Ali Wakili trains 100 youths on Welding, Computer operations

The Chairman, Senate committee on Poverty Alleviation Senator Ali Wakili has promised not let his people down and pledged to be good representative of his Constituency,”my people mean a lot to me, and I would do everything possible to see that they are assists in all sphere human endeavours.”
Speaking yesterday while distributing computers and welding tools to about 100 unemployed youths selected from the seven local governments of his constituency who were trained on welding and computer skills to empower them to be self-reliant.
Presenting the items to the beneficiaries at the Sani Abacha gymnasium, Bauchi, Senator Wakili representing Bauchi South Senatorial District said the gesture was part of his 2016 Constituency Project, stressing that skills acquisition remains one of the biggest weapons of tackling poverty among teeming unemployed Youths that are roaming our streets doing nothing.
Our Correspondent reports that 56 youths out of 100 were trained on Basic Computer literacy by the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Bauchi while the remaining 44 Youths underwent welding and fabrication under the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology, Zaria under his youth empowerment program.
The Fagacin Bauchi Senator Ali Wakili charged the beneficiaries to make the best use of the items to better their lives and their families.
”The beneficiaries are expected to start up micro businesses with the knowledge acquired and the equipment donated”, he advised.
He assured the constituents that he would continue to initiate youth empowerment and skills acquisition programmes that would uplift the living standard of the people of his constituency.
Earlier in his speech, the Director General of NDE, Dr Mohammed Ladan Argungu, commended the Senator for his gesture, saying the senator has implemented people-oriented programmes that have empowered thousands to set up micro enterprises of their own within their local communities and contributed to economic growth.
Argungu, represented by Aliyu Abubakar, the Deputy Director Vocational Skills of the directorate, also commended the senator for his philanthropic and patriotic sense of responsibility which he has consistently been exemplary.
He said that for almost three decades the NDE has taken a wide variety of employment promotion and poverty reduction activities and the experience acquired has positioned the directorate to play a dominant role in efforts of the federal government to fight unemployment.
In a similar vein, the Director General of NIIT, Dr Aminu Musa Yusuf who was represented by Dr Bayaro Fara, Director Training of the Institute said that Wakili’s intervention was timely in view of the unemployment situation in the country.
Yusuf stressed that as skills acquisition is not only crucial for national development but also serves to reduce crime and eliminate poverty as well as reduce joblessness.
He assured the senator that the doors of the Institute are open for such partnership and its renewed c commitment towards providing best quality training, as he urged the beneficiaries to utilise the materials provided them.

Pius Akutah’s Alleged Fraud at Nigerian Shippers Council Uncovered
Investigations by Nigerian Concord Newspaper reveal that the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers Council, Mr. Pius Akutah, has allegedly misappropriated public funds for a lavish lifestyle.
According to our findings, within months of assuming office, Akutah allegedly purchased a bulletproof SUV valued at approximately N850 million. In addition, he is reported to have acquired over twenty exotic SUVs for use as a convoy.
Akutah is also said to have acquired multiple high-value properties, including three in Abuja’s Maitama and Asokoro districts worth over N2 billion, and two in Lagos’ Banana Island valued at N1.8 billion. These acquisitions appear far beyond the scope of his official salary and allowances.
Further investigation suggests that Akutah may be using public funds to support political ambitions, including allegedly grooming militants across 23 local government areas in Benue State for a potential 2027 gubernatorial bid.
Staff of the Shippers Council reportedly claim that Akutah frequently accesses the council’s treasury without proper authorization. Some insiders have indicated that a petition will soon be filed with the EFCC, ICPC, and the Presidency to report his alleged misconduct.
