Troops of the Nigerian Army conducting counter-terrorism operations in Borno State have successfully killed five terrorists in a recent operation. The incident occurred during a raid on the terrorists’ strongholds in Ajiri and Mastari villages within the Bama Local Government Area.
In a statement released on X, the Army reported that the operation yielded significant results, including the recovery of Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) bombs, two AK-47 magazines, 28 rounds of 7.62mm (special) ammunition, and a light machine gun.
“On September 29, 2024, a high-intensity raid was launched on Boko Haram/ISWAP strongholds in Ajiri and Mastari villages. Troops leveraged superior firepower to decimate four notorious fighters,” the statement detailed.
The Army emphasized that these decisive operations have dealt a heavy blow to terrorist activities, crippling their operational capabilities across the region. The troops also rescued four kidnapped victims who were found injured and immediately evacuated for medical attention.
In a related operation in Plateau State, the Army apprehended two known kidnappers, Isah Abdullahi (24) and Mujahid Musa (23), during a raid in the forested mountains of Panyam. The operation was based on precise intelligence and led to the recovery of two motorcycles, three mobile phones, and other items.
Additionally, an arms dealer named Kabiru Zaki was arrested in Bukuru town of Jos South Local Government Area, along with another suspect connected to a recent murder in Brazongo village, Bassa Local Government Area.
