Soludo Assures Safety in Anambra, Urges Residents to Return Home for Christmas

Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has called on the people of the state to return home and celebrate Christmas and New Year with their families, assuring them of safety. The governor’s press secretary, Mr. Christian Aburime, conveyed the message, highlighting the improved security situation in the state.
According to Aburime, Anambra is no longer a “dread zone” but a place of peace, joy, and goodwill. Governor Soludo has taken significant steps to reverse the security challenges in the state, including the establishment of the Ministry of Homeland Affairs dedicated to security and the empowerment of Anambra Vigilantes.
The governor emphasized the increased presence of surveillance and joint security squads patrolling the streets. He assured the residents that the dark days of insecurity in Anambra were over, and the state is now a safe haven. Soludo urged communities to participate in ensuring security, emphasizing that it is a collective responsibility.
Traditional rulers, Presidents General of communities, and the public were called upon to collaborate with the government and security agencies, contributing to information flows and intelligence gathering. Soludo expressed gratitude for the proactive leadership that has transformed streets and ensured a festive atmosphere.
The governor assured the people that, in case of any misfortune, ambulances and medical personnel would be readily available to respond and provide assistance. He urged residents to return home without doubt, emphasizing that all necessary security measures were in place to ensure a peaceful and joyous Christmas and New Year celebration.
Investigations by Nigerian Concord Newspaper reveal that the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers Council, Mr. Pius Akutah, has allegedly misappropriated public funds for a lavish lifestyle.
According to our findings, within months of assuming office, Akutah allegedly purchased a bulletproof SUV valued at approximately N850 million. In addition, he is reported to have acquired over twenty exotic SUVs for use as a convoy.
Akutah is also said to have acquired multiple high-value properties, including three in Abuja’s Maitama and Asokoro districts worth over N2 billion, and two in Lagos’ Banana Island valued at N1.8 billion. These acquisitions appear far beyond the scope of his official salary and allowances.
Further investigation suggests that Akutah may be using public funds to support political ambitions, including allegedly grooming militants across 23 local government areas in Benue State for a potential 2027 gubernatorial bid.
Staff of the Shippers Council reportedly claim that Akutah frequently accesses the council’s treasury without proper authorization. Some insiders have indicated that a petition will soon be filed with the EFCC, ICPC, and the Presidency to report his alleged misconduct.
