President Bola Tinubu and state governors reassured Nigerians on Wednesday that the current economic pains and hardships they are enduring will eventually lead to prosperity. They emphasized that these present struggles are necessary sacrifices that will pave the way for a better future for the country.
President Tinubu, speaking after observing Eid prayers in Lagos, acknowledged the burdens faced by the nation but urged Nigerians to have faith in God and the country’s ability to achieve peace, stability, and prosperity. He called for unity, urging people to prioritize their national identity over religious and tribal identities.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, conveyed the governor’s message, urging Muslims to support the President’s “Renewed Hope” agenda and pray for his success. The prayer gathering was attended by notable government officials and politicians.
In other parts of the country, governors and religious leaders also stressed the importance of peace and economic prosperity. Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State called on the people to respect authority and promised to continue developing the state. Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas urged prayers and unity for the actualization of a new Taraba, while the Emir of Katsina joined Muslims in observing the Eid prayers.
Overall, the leaders emphasized the need for patience, unity, and prayers during these challenging times, expressing confidence that Nigeria will overcome its present difficulties and move towards a brighter future.
