Tragic Passing of British Tourist in Argentina: Yorkshire Man Dies from Natural Causes at Polo Ranch Resort

A 65-year-old British tourist from Yorkshire collapsed and passed away in front of his wife while vacationing at the Puesto Viejo Estancia ranch in Argentina, located 30 miles from Buenos Aires. The incident occurred at approximately 7 am on Sunday, with the victim succumbing to respiratory and heart failure within minutes.

Local authorities were alerted by ranch staff, who, after verification, confirmed the man’s death from natural causes. His body was then transferred to a nearby police station. The victim had been accompanied by his wife, who is reported to be a nurse and provided initial assistance.

Officials emphasized that it was a natural death, stating, ‘On Sunday morning, he decompensated and died. He was with his wife, who is a nurse, and who took charge of assisting him in the first instance.’

Arrangements are being made by local authorities for the repatriation of the deceased’s body to Britain. The Foreign Office and the Puesto Viejo Estancia ranch have yet to provide official comments on the incident.

The Puesto Viejo Estancia ranch, a hotel and polo complex, is situated on the outskirts of Buenos Aires and owned by Jeremy Baker, a former Goldman Sachs banker. The ranch, described as a blend of nature, comfort, and exclusivity, offers a Polo Club, Country Club, Club House, Hotel, and Glamping, operating for over 12 years, according to its website.
