At least not less than 12 Military Personnel Including Senior Officers were reportedly killed by the suspected bandits at Kundu via Zungeru in Wushishi local government area of Niger state.
National trail reliably gathered that the incident occurred on Sunday when 12 of them were killed in the encountered last Sunday, while 8 were also killed yesterday Monday in an ambush in which a two star captain and a major were reportedly involved.
According to reports, the security operatives were trying to block the criminals route at Kundu who were about crossing with a numbers of rustled cattle when they were ambushed leading to the casualties, also including 5 vigilantes were injured with gun shots.
It was reliably gathered that the bandits have rustled plenty animals from several communities and trying to cross from Akere village in Wushishi local government area to the Northern parts of the country.
An eye witnessed told our Reporter that the 12 Military Personnel corpses were deposited at the Zungeru hospital were the injured vigilante group are receiving medical treatment.
Speaking in an interview one of the injured vigilante, Sani Adamu, said they had face to face exchange of gun shot within 100 meters but they were over powered because the criminals weapon are more sophisticated than there weapons.
