Galaxy Backbone Ltd (GBB) has called on all relevant stakeholders to partner with the government to drive the country’s digital economy forward.
Prof. Muhammad Abubakar, Managing Director,, Galaxy Backbone (GBB), said this at the Information, Communication, Technology, and Telecommunications (ICTEL) Expo in Lagos.
The Exhibition and Expo were organised by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) in Muson Centre, Lagos.
The two-day largest tech. 2022 Expo and Exhibition has its theme: “Ensuring Efficient Digital Infrastructure in Nigeria”.
Abubakar, represented by Mr Dauda Oyeleye, Group Head, Business Development , said the organisation was aware of the need to establish robust partnership to work in line with her vision.
He said:”GBB believed in the development and growth of any economy being the leading enabler of Digital Inclusion in Africa.”
The D-G emphasised the importance of working together towards creating effective and productive Digital Infrastructure that would power and propel the nation’s Digital Economy.
“This is because we believe that this is what drives the development and growth of any economy.
“We are very clear in mind that we cannot succeed on our own, hence, we are determined to collaborate with organisations and platforms like yours in advancing the goals and objectives of our respective organisations.
“We are poised to reposition ourselves and advance the growth and prosperity of our nation. And what better way to do this, than to support what the Lagos Chamber of Commerce is doing.
“We are hopeful that in a short time, we will be listed as one of the most advanced digital economies operating out of Africa,” he said.
Abubakar thanked the chamber for partnering with GBB and he pledged to increase the agency’s support towards the advancement of trade and industry in Nigeria.
He also seized the opportunity to educate attendees on the world class Tier III Data Centre and soon to be launched Tier IV Data Centre operated by GBB for Cloud and Disaster Recovery purposes.
The GBB will soon launch a World-class Tier IV data centre built by the Federal Government.
It also houses GBB’s North West Regional Office and Network Operating Centre in Kano.
