40-year-old suspected kidnapper in NSCDC net in Kwara

The Kwara state Command of the
Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested a 40- year-old man, Boodo Abdullahi, for allegedly Kidnapping and Killing an 80-year-old Alhaji Abba at Eruwa in Oyo state.

Parading the suspect, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Olasunkanmi Ayeni, said the victim was killed by the kidnappers after ransom had been collected.

He said the suspect was arrested through shared information with the Nigeria Police .

Mr Ayeni explained that Boodo Abdullah was arrested in Bani Kiama local government area of Kwara state, while the Police in Oyo state had already arrested three of the suspects over the alleged crime .
The NSCDC spokesman said efforts are on to arrest the remaining fleeing suspects, adding that that the victim,had earlier alerted one Alhaji Isiaka to the possibility of his being kidnapped.

Mr Ayeni said the suspect would be transferred to Oyo state as soon as Investigations are concluded for prosecution.

When the suspect was fielding questions from journalists, he admitted that the victim ,Alhaji Abba had earlier reported him to Alhaji Isiaka over suspicion of being kidnapped, but denied his involvement in the crime, arguing that his imprisonment at Agodi prion in Oyo state was based on alleged misrepresentation by his brother who he alleged to have killed his friend.

He called on the security agencies to ensure proper investigations into the matter before concluding on his prosecution.

Boodo a farmer and cattle rearer said he only traveled to Kaiama in Kwara state to visit his uncle where he was arrested.
