High Tech Centre for Women and Youths reiterates importance of ICT training

The High Tech Centre for Nigerian Women and Youths has reiterated the important of ICT through the launching of an initiative tagged Muscles with Brains for Tech Innovation.

The NGO which has in the last 2 years embarked on Solar Panels assembly locally in Nigeria as well as production of gas for domestic purposes amongst others noted that its main aim is to bring up capacity building projects and programs to the male gender in areas of science Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics and ICTs for industrial development of Nigeria

The Unveiling and Launch of the STEAM Boys, Tech Men Initiative which took place in Abuja had In attendance professionals from various Engineering fields and some Inventors.

In a paper presented to the press, the NGO outlined various plans and achievements which includes teaching women and girls how to assemble mobile phones with actual projections of developing a Made in Nigeria mobile phone soon.

They also noted that their focus in the last 15 years is on Women, Girls and Youths Capacity development in ICTs, STEM and Entrepreurship, planning a model of Technology Know-How learning’s that will involve all males especially the younger boys in Schools at all levels and prepare the younger ones to become Tech-solution providers at all levels.

In attendance to Open and Launch the Initiative was, the Director General / CEO of NITDA – National Information Technology Development Agency Mr. Kashif Inuwa

Also present was the Representatives of the Keynote Speaker – Mrs. Dayo Benjamins-Laniyi ably represented by Mr.Wellington Osazuwa, CEO Wise and Witty Consult Ltd & Founder….Earth Salters Int’l Network, Representatives  of the FCT Secondary Education Board -SEB, The UBEB, and Men from various Agencies of Government among others.

Climax of the day was the technical Session with Dr. Agu of NITDA on the UNITY Board PCB Education enlightenment and Mrs. Christiana Adiku on Biogas Technologies.
