Anyim Visits Tinubu at State House, Congratulates President and Discusse National Unity
President Bola Tinubu had a meeting with former Senate President Anyim Anyim at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Anyim, who previously served as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation under President Goodluck Jonathan, arrived at the Villa alongside Olisah Metuh, the former National Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Anyim had declared his intention to run for the presidency on the PDP ticket in 2022 but was later suspended by the party for alleged anti-party activities when he supported the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Ebonyi State.
Meanwhile, Metuh resigned from the PDP and partisan politics in October 2022, citing medical grounds in his resignation letter.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Senator Anyim explained that the purpose of their visit was to congratulate President Tinubu on his inauguration as the 16th President of Nigeria and to commend him for the achievements he has made so far.
He emphasized that the discussions were primarily centered around encouraging and congratulating the President. Anyim also expressed confidence in the Tinubu administration’s ability to achieve national unity.
In a similar vein, former PDP spokesman Metuh praised President Tinubu’s initial policies, inclusiveness, and emphasized the importance of participatory governance and democracy. He expressed optimism that under President Tinubu’s leadership, the country would unite and move towards a happier future, highlighting the need for collective effort and alternatives in policy-making.
The visit showcased the spirit of dialogue and engagement between political figures, focusing on congratulatory messages and the aspiration for a unified and prosperous nation.
