President Bola Tinubu has extended his heartfelt condolences following the passing of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, at the age of 81.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngalale, President Tinubu described the late Olubadan as an exceptional monarch whose dedication to serving humanity was unparalleled.
Tinubu acknowledged the significant loss felt by the Olubadan-in-Council, the Oyo State Traditional Council, and the people of Ibadanland and Oyo State.
Celebrating the remarkable life of the monarch, President Tinubu highlighted Oba Lekan Balogun’s unwavering commitment to his people, his state, and the nation at large.
He described the late Olubadan as a compassionate and courageous leader, renowned for advocating peace, honesty, and unity throughout his reign. President Tinubu emphasized the invaluable wisdom and counsel of the late king, which will be greatly missed during this critical period in the nation’s history.
While expressing his sympathy to all those mourning the loss, President Tinubu encouraged them to find solace in the enduring legacies of the late king, asserting that Oba Lekan Balogun’s noble deeds and the memories of his impactful presence will live on eternally.
