WAEC Set to Commence 2024 WASSCE on April 30

The West African Examinations Council, Nigeria (WAEC), has announced that the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) will begin on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

Amos Dangut, the head of WAEC Nigeria, made this announcement on Monday, April 29, 2024, at the council’s Lagos office, emphasizing the council’s readiness to conduct the examination.

“I am delighted to inform you that WASSCE for school candidates, 2024 will take place between Tuesday, April 30 and Monday, June 24, 2024, in Nigeria, spanning seven weeks and six days.

The examination will be conducted in four WAEC member countries, namely: Nigeria, Gambia, Sierra-Leone, and Liberia,” Dangut stated.

Dangut reiterated the council’s preparedness to conduct the examination the next day and emphasized collaboration with federal and state ministries of education, security agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure a credible examination.

“We remain ever grateful to the ministers of education, state ministries of education, the inspector-general of police, and all our stakeholders, for their usual support and cooperation, as we count on them once again,” he added.
