During a recent appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today program, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, expressed admiration for President Bola Tinubu, crediting him with restoring hope in the minds of Nigerians since assuming office about a year ago.
Wike’s remarks came during a ministerial sectoral update where he also highlighted some of the achievements of his ministry within the past year.
Among the accomplishments mentioned by the Minister were the implementation of the FCT service commission, the establishment of the women’s secretariat in the FCT with a mandated Secretary, and the FCTA’s exit from the Treasury Single Account, allowing access to internally generated revenue for project execution.
Additionally, improvements in security through the provision of security vehicles and infrastructure, road construction, rehabilitation of the Abuja light rail project, and schools across the FCT were listed as achievements.
Mr. Wike also announced the commissioning of a 120-kilometer road spanning six area councils and other projects scheduled to commence on May 27th.
