The Pan African Society for Social and Economic Change (PASSEC)  has commended the efforts of Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu in bringing development and empowering youths in the state, which is also bolstering federal government policies and reforms.

The group urged o youths to model after Sanwo-Olu, describing his impact in the state and across the Southwest region as “monumental and his leadership traits worthy of an emulation by young people”.

Executive Director, Basah Mohammed made this known in Lagos as part of a resolution following a town hall meeting organized by civil society organizations and youth groups in the Southwest region at the weekend.

Mohammed said the participants further heaped praises on the Sanwo-Olu-led administration after a thorough assessment, adding that the economic reforms and initiatives by President Bola Tinubu have been deepened and bolstered by the efforts of the Lagos state government.

He emphasized that Nigerian youths must be enthusiastic in learning from a leader like Governor Sanwo-Olu while calling for a deliberate mentoring of youths especially in building their leadership capacity and sense of patriotism.

Additionally, the group says plans are being worked to replicate the town hall meeting wherein major youth organizations will be invited to participate and to further showcase Sanwo-Olu’s giant stride in Lagos and the Southwest region.

“We are pleased with Governor Sanwo-Olu’s leadership in Lagos and across the Southwest geopolitical region, as he continues to establish projects, develop new infrastructure, and prioritize youth empowerment. These initiatives are deserving of recognition.

“Sanwo-Olu is an embodiment of good governance, a role model for youths in Lagos and across the country, and must be emulated at a time like this when Nigeria has a teeming youth population ready to take over as leaders.

“We are already seeing the emerging shoots of the positive outcomes of reforms in Lagos state. The impact has gone beyond Lagos state, that is why we keep commending Governor Sanwo-Olu for improving the secondary and tertiary institutions creditably well by giving priority to the educational sector.

“Our people are hardworking and enterprising, and it’s refreshing that the Lagos government continues to create an enabling environment and incentives for their businesses to thrive,” he disclosed.

According to the group, Lagos state’s growing public revenues and improving macroeconomic stability are signals of progress and have continued to bolster the efforts of President Tinubu’s administration to actualize his Renewed Hope Agenda.

KUMO CONGRATULATES TINUBU ON PRIMARY VICTORY: “NIGERIA HAS FOUND IN YOU A LEADER WORTHY OF HER TRUST “

Hon. Hamma-Adama Ali Kumo, popularly known as “Dattuwa”, Deputy National Financial Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Chairman of the Governing Board of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his landslide victory at the 2026 APC Presidential Primary Election.
In a warm and heartfelt message, Kumo described the President’s victory as a clear and resounding endorsement by millions of ordinary Nigerians who have seen, felt, and believed in his leadership.
“Mr. President, today the people have spoken. From the North to the South, from state to state and ward to ward, APC members came out in their millions to say — we are with you. This victory belongs to every Nigerian who believes in a better tomorrow,” Kumo said.
He praised President Tinubu for the courage and humility he demonstrated by subjecting himself to the democratic process — choosing to stand and be elected rather than using the power of incumbency to sidestep the people’s verdict.
“You are a President who could have taken the easy road. Instead, you opened the door to all, welcomed a challenger, and stood before the Nigerian people to be judged. That is the mark of a true democrat, and we are proud of you,” he said.
Kumo also celebrated the Electoral Act 2026 — signed by the President — which abolished the delegate system and empowered grassroots party members across all 8,809 wards to vote directly for their preferred candidate. He described it as one of the most important gifts any President has given to Nigerian democracy.
“You did not just talk about democracy. You legislated for it, and then you lived by it. That consistency of character is what sets you apart,” Kumo added.
As a member of the APC’s National Working Committee and Chairman of the ITF Governing Board — a position he holds by the confidence of the President — Kumo said he remained fully committed to supporting the Tinubu administration in delivering on its Renewed Hope agenda for all Nigerians.
He closed with a personal charge to the President.
“Your Excellency, the mandate is yours. The people trust you. Go and finish the work. Nigeria is counting on you, and we are all standing firmly behind you.”
