Senator Godswill Akpabio, the President of the Senate, has appointed Rt. Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, a former spokesperson of the House of Representatives, as his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs. Akpabio personally made this announcement during a recent media gathering with the Senate Press Corps in Abuja.

Senator Akpabio praised Eyiboh as a highly skilled politician, seasoned media manager, expert in public affairs, and a communication specialist. Eyiboh, a two-time member of the House of Representatives, served in the Green Chamber from 2007 to 2011 and was subsequently reelected in 2011. During his earlier tenure, he held the position of spokesman and chaired the House Committee on Media and Public Affairs from 2007 to 2011, serving under the speakership of Rt. Hon. Dimeji Bankole.

In 2011, Eyiboh was appointed as the Chairman of the House Committee on Civil Society Organisations and Donor Agencies by Speaker Aminu Waziri Tambuwal. He brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having held various significant positions, including Chairman of the Governing Board of the Cross River Basins Development Authority, Executive Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Ethical and Attitudinal Reorientation Commission, Director at Akwa Palm Industries Ltd, Speaker at the WAIFEM forum for Regional Parliamentarians in Accra, and Corporate Affairs Consultant at Socfinco Indufina of Brussels.

Eyiboh also serves as the Dean of the Faculty Board of the Initiatives, an influential caucus of former and current members of the National Assembly. His appointment has garnered widespread praise across the country, with many analysts commending the Senate President for this selection.
