Akwa Ibom APC Stakeholders Accuse Akpabio of Betrayal

Senate President Godswill Akpabio Faces Allegations of Selling APC to PDP

Some stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State have accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio, along with the party’s state chairman, Stephen Ntukekpo, and the Minister of Petroleum (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo, of undermining the party’s structure in favor of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

In an open letter to President Bola Tinubu, the stakeholders alleged that Akpabio and his allies have weakened the APC in exchange for PDP’s backing of his 2027 re-election bid. They warned that if urgent action is not taken, the APC may collapse in the state, affecting Tinubu’s second-term prospects.

However, Akpabio’s media aide, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, dismissed the claims, calling them baseless and politically motivated.
