The House of Representatives Committee on Anti-Corruption has reinstated it commitment to developed an effective ways of combating corruption in Nigeria.
Chairman of the committee Hon. Kayode Akinolu gave the assurance on Thurday during the inauguration of his committee at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja.
He further emphasized his committee readiness to ensuring transparency and accountability as the watchdog of the committee while delivering their assignment to the country and Nigerians in particularly.
Hon. Akinolu equally used the opportunity to reel out the agenda of his committee adding that such is in line with the 10th legislative agenda of the Hon. Tajudeen Abass.
Earlier, the chairman had explained the need of his committee to carry out oversight functions stressing that such are in conformity with the renewed hope agenda of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration, for the purpose of tackling corruption as well as revamping the nation’s economic growth for the purpose of prospering of the country and her teaming populace.
Members of the committee who took turned to speak during the event, commended their Chairman for his wisdom and programme aimed at ensuring transparency.
In his earlier address, lawmakers who are members of the committee promised to cooperate and interfaced with various local and international organisation to garner support and training for the committee in carrying out its assignment while dismissing fears that the work of the committee could over lap with other committees of the house like the EFCC.
Meanwhile Members have pledged their support to the Chairman and the committee promising to contribute their experiences to the success of the committee.
