APC Youth Mass Movement inaugurates state, LGA, Ward Excos in Yenagoa

The All Progressive Congress, APC Youth Mass Movement for David Lyon has inaugurated its state, local government areas, Non Indigene, ward executive members and the Metropolitan women to ensure smooth running of the organization towards claiming victory for David Lyon as elected governor of Bayelsa State come November 16, 2019.
The group led by Dr. Solomon David was inaugurated at the APC Party Secretariat by the state Party Chairman, Hon. Jonath Rowland, who was represented Hon. Alabo Martins the state party secretary in Yenagoa, capital of Bayelsa State.
Speaking at the inauguration, Hon. Martins said with the defection of the famous PDP Youth Alliance to the winning party, the PDP is finished saying that APC is overwhelmed and happy to have them in the progressive family.
The secretary explained that it is expedient for Bayelsa State to align itself with the APC at the center explaining that Bayelsa cannot afford to miss this opportunity as the party is presenting a credible and true grassroots candidate to forge positive progress in the state.
According to him, a David Lyon’s ticket is of the people, by people and for the people which is the true definition of democracy emphasizing that as an APC state Bayelsans will truly experience the dividends of democracy.
Martins added that with the pedigree and capacity of Comrade David as the Director General of the group, he is sure that APC Youth Mass Movement for David Lyon is ready to muster support and galvanize grassroots voters for the gubernatorial candidate of the party as their name suggest.
He expressed optimism that will the calibre of democrats as foot soldiers in the group victory is sure for the APC and Bayelsa will be better under the leadership of David Lyon.
The party secretary attested to the character of Dr. Solomon David as a great grassroot mobilizer recognized in Bayelsa State recalling that the DG of the group, was a one time Student Union president that have tested leadership qualities in the state with outstanding performance that is glaring for all to see.
The party scribe noted that from his University days to the PDP Youth Alliance he has remained focus at all times, always standing with the people noting that as a APC member now, he will bring that same force to contribute to the success of Chief David Lyon project to ensure victory.
In his response, the Director General of the group, Solomon David said he is happy to be in the APC with his followers saying that it is laughable that PDP told the newsmen that he defected alone.
Comrade David said, “The sinking and failing party, PDP said “David Solomon defected with nobody”. Yes, if truly I did not go to APC with anybody, where are all this crowds coming from?
“I am focused and know that I am on track for defecting from the PDP to join forces with the progressives to reverse the ugly trend faced by our people in recent times. So, be assured that victory is for APC and David Lyon.
“With this inauguration, today, I am calling on the PDP to disprove me and the Mass Movement wrong that I did not defect with his supporters. Today, we are well over fifty thousand registered members across the state with more coming in.
“Today, from the state to the ward levels, we are inaugurating over 2,750 persons into various positions in the groups in Yenagoa in least 48 hours of joining the APC. These people will go back to the grassroots to mobilize at their units to ensure the victory of David Lyon”, he said.
Solomon David is the immediate past State Coordinator of the PDP Youth Alliance who defected with his supporters to the All Progressive Congress APC.
Top party chieftains present at the inauguration are Pastor Reuben, who is also the patron of the group as well as the party Organizing Secretary, Hon Joseph Alakere and Hon Igali Joel, a legislative aide to Hon Preye Oseke at the Federal House of Representatives, Abuja.
Those inaugurated were State Executives members, the eight (8) local Government Areas Coordinators and their members, and Ward coordinators across the state.
Others are special areas with active voting strength which include Mechanic Village Coordinator/Executives, Swali Market Coordinators and Female Wing of Swali Market Coordinators.

Kwara: Security Team Kills Two Bandits, Rescues Two Kidnap Victims

A security team, comprising operatives of DSS and forest guards, has rescued two victims of abduction in a forest between Oba Isin/Owa Onire area of isin and Ifelodun Local Government Areas of Kwara State.
The rescued victims are 16-year-old Fatima Azeez and Ibrahim Azeez who is five-year old.
The team also eliminated two armed bandits, while others escaped with severe injuries as the security forces stormed their hideouts, according to a report by DSS and local authorities.
The security team also recovered several items from the kidnappers, including one Ak-47 rifle; one single barrel; one fully loaded magazine with nine empty; mini-solar panel; and food items.
The rescue operation is connected to the multi-agency counterterrorism and anti-kidnapping efforts of the government.

Kwara: Police Launch Investigations Into Killing Of Farmer On Farmland

The Kwara State Police Command has commenced full-scale investigations into the killing of a farmer, Mr Azeez Garba, whose body was discovered on his farmland along the Owa-Onire axis, the boundary between Isanlu-Isin and Owu-Isin in Isin Local Government Area of the State.
The Commissioner of Police, Ojo Adekimi, described the murder as “cruel, senseless and unacceptable,” and directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to intensify efforts to identify and arrest those behind the attack.
According to the police, preliminary investigations showed that the deceased left home for his farm in the morning but did not return, prompting his family members and local vigilantes to organise a search.
The search party reportedly found his motorcycle parked on the farmland before discovering his lifeless body a short distance away. Police said the victim had sustained deep machete cuts.
Reacting to the incident, CP Adekimi ordered investigators to deploy all available intelligence and investigative resources to unravel the circumstances surrounding the killing.
“The killing is cruel, senseless and unacceptable,” the commissioner of Police said, assuring residents that the command would leave no stone unturned in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
Although no suspect had been arrested as of Monday, the command said all available leads were being diligently pursued.
The police also assured the bereaved family, the people of Isin Local Government Area and the general public that investigators were working tirelessly to track down everyone connected with the crime.
“The Kwara State Police Command remains unwavering in its commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state and will not relent until every person responsible for this reprehensible act is brought before the law,” the statement added.

Kwara: Joint Security Team Arrests Alleged Cultist, Recovers Firearm

A coordinated security operation involving the Kwara State Police Command, other security agencies and the Kwara State Polytechnic Security Unit has led to the arrest of a suspected cultist, Agboola Olamilekan, with a locally fabricated pistol recovered from him in Ilorin.
The operation, carried out as part of ongoing efforts to combat cultism and violent crimes across the state, was described by the police as another breakthrough in intelligence-driven policing aimed at dismantling criminal networks and reducing the circulation of illegal firearms.
Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, in a statement issued on Wednesday on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, said the suspect was apprehended during the joint operation while in possession of the firearm.
According to the statement, the operation is part of the Command’s sustained strategy to disrupt cult-related activities and deny criminal elements the opportunity to operate within the state.
Commenting on the development, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ojo Adekimi, reaffirmed the Command’s determination to intensify the fight against cultism and other violent crimes.
“Every successful operation represents another step towards dismantling criminal networks and enhancing public safety across the state through proactive and intelligence-led policing,” the commissioner said.
The police disclosed that investigations are ongoing to identify and arrest other suspected members of the criminal network linked to the suspect.
The Command added that it remains committed to advancing the policing vision of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, through intelligence-led policing, strategic collaboration with relevant stakeholders and sustained operations aimed at ensuring that those responsible for threatening the peace and security of Kwara State are brought to justice.
