The Army War College Nigeria (AWCN) says it is set for the conduct of its final exercise for participants of Course 5/2021 tagged “Exercise Star Ride” in Abuja.
The Commandant, AWCN, Maj.-Gen. Solomon Uduonwa, disclosed this in a statement by the college Public Relations Officer, Maj. Mohammed Maidawa, on Wednesday in Abuja.
Uduonwa said the exercise was designed to further develop participants’ skills to effectively respond to contemporary security challenges facing Nigeria.
He added that the exercise was a culmination of the training packages at the AWCN, which involved aspects of national security, interagency coordination, logistics planning, counter terrorism and stabilisation operation.
According to him, the exercise will provide an avenue for the participants to practice planning, preparation and conduct of operations as Commanders and Staff under different scenarios at operational level.
“The 4-day exercise, which started on Oct. 18, at the College premises located at WU Bassey Barracks, Asokoro Abuja, will end on Friday.
“The exercise will draw umpires and observers from members of the Armed Forces of Nigeria and Paramilitary agencies,”he said.
