In a comparison of strengths between two standout strikers, former Inter Milan forward Mario Balotelli has weighed in on the debate, favoring Lautaro Martinez over Victor Osimhen.
Both Martinez and Osimhen have consistently impressed in the Italian Serie A, with Osimhen notably outshining Martinez last season as the top scorer and continuing his impressive form into the 2023-24 campaign with 23 goals to his name.
Balotelli, acknowledging his close relationship with Osimhen, believes that Martinez possesses greater strength compared to the Nigerian striker. He remarked, “I say Lautaro in front of Osimhen and Leao,” as quoted by Tutto Napoli.
While Osimhen has delivered promising performances this season as he aims to help Napoli defend their Scudetto and retain his Capocannoniere title, Martinez currently leads the goal-scoring charts with 23 goals. This leaves Osimhen with a challenge to catch up in the remaining eight games of the season.
