Most commissioners inaugurated by governor Hyacinth Alia in the Benue State Executive Council early this week including that of youths, sports and creativity Mr Terkimbi Ikyange, Thursday assumed duty at the ministry of sports headquarters at the state secretariat Makurdi.
Addressing management and staff the commissioner emphasized the need for team work, adding that together the good intentions of the Alia administration for the people of the state would be achieved.
The former speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly informed management that he would be relying heavily on the expertise of the permanent secretary, directors and staff of the ministry to succeed in the task of assisting governor Alia to provide the needed dividends of democracy to the people and solicited for their cooperation and understanding to enable the new administration succeed.
The Youths, Sports and Creativity commissioner equally challenged the staff to brace up for the task ahead which is that of deploying their creativity to the development of sports and youths in the state, adding that with their cooperation,he was determined to change the story of the ministry for the better.
In a welcome remark permanent secretary ministry of youths, sports and creativity Mr John Akume introduced directors of various departments to the new commissioner and informed him that both his handover notes and those of his directors were also ready to brief the commissioner on various activities of their department at the appropriate time, expressing appreciation to the governor for appointing a youth to head the ministry.
