Members of the dread Boko Haram sect on Monday launched a dawn attack on soldiers and retook Kareto town in Marte Local Government Area of Borno state. Number of casualties remain sketchy for now, but reports indicate that the insurgents took Nigerian troops by surprise, when they opened fire on their formation. Soldiers were forced to retreat to Gubio, whilea Military fighter jet was reported to have taken over the counter attack.
