Breaking: Atiku’s Campaign Council Scatters As Wike And Co Withdraw

The Campaign Council of the Presidential standard bearer f the People’s Democratic Party, PDP is currently in quandary over the reported withdrawal of key figures from the campaigns.

Our correspondent reports that, a group under the leadership of Rivers State Governor Nyeson Wike, who rose from an all night meeting in Portharcourt, the Rivers State Capital have dissociated themselves from Atiku.

According to them, unless the National Chairman of the PDP, Iyorchia Ayu, resigns to pave way for a Southerner, so that there will be balance in the party leadership structure, they will sabotage Atiku’s campaigns.

The group has consistent demanded for Ayu’s resignation as a prelude for peace to return to the PDP.
As it is, the party has been divided over the issue, with the Presidential standard bearer himself insisting on constitutional procedures, while his supporters outrightly reject that call.

The PDP which has greater prospects in the 2023 elections may as well lose the elections, according to one of the spokespersons of the Wike group.
Chief Bode George had earlier hinted on the likely loss ahead of the PDP if it fails to address the internal wranglings.
