Cleric Rues Unending Insecurity In Nigeria, urges firmer action against bandits
- As C&S Movement Church Worldwide begins 85th Convention

The Chairman and Spiritual Father of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, His Most Eminence Prophet (Dr.) Emmanuel Abiodun Alogbo, has expressed deep concern over the seemingly intractable insecurity ravaging several parts of Nigeria, describing it as a great threat to national unity and religious harmony.
He added: “As we gather here today, Nigeria stands at a crossroads – a nation grappling with multifarious challenges, yet equally blessed with boundless opportunities. The persistence of insecurity, banditry, and terrorists attacks in various parts of our beloved country has reached a crescendo, and has become a source of great concern, particularly in the Christian-populated areas of the North and South.”
The Spiritual Father, therefore, called on the federal government, alongside the security agencies, to step up further coordinated actions against the bandits, kidnappers, and other non-state actors, so that innocent and law-abiding Nigerians can sleep with their two eyes closed and also go about their legitimate businesses without let or hindrance.
The Spiritual Father, who spoke over the weekend during a press conference preceding the 85th Annual Conference and Convention of the Church, at the Conference International Secretariat, Galilee Land, Orile-Igbon, Oyo State, was particularly miffed at the incessant attacks on Christian communities, especially in the Northern Region and parts of the Southern Region, describing the situation as worrisome and unacceptable.
According to him, the continued wave of banditry, terrorism, and militant activities has made life unbearable for many citizens, noting that women, children, and the elderly, have become the most vulnerable victims.
“The brutal attacks on Christian communities are heart-wrenching and represent an assault not only on human life but also on the core principles of peace, tolerance, and unity,” he added.
The cleric, however, urged Nigerians not to lose hope, but to continue to remain steadfast and resolute in faith, stressing that the current challenges confronting the nation are not insurmountable.
He said: “Despite these trials, we as people of faith remain resolute. Our prayers ascend to heaven, and we trust that our Almighty Father will bring forth peace, security, and restoration to every corner of this land.”
While announcing the commencement of the 85th Annual Conference and Convention of the Church on Sunday, November 2, 2025, Prophet Alogbo described the gathering as a sacred period of spiritual renewal, divine encounter, and collective reflection on God’s unending faithfulness.
He used the occasion to unveil a 10- point agenda, including branding and identity reformation; doctrinal and liturgical realignment; leadership succession and planing; doscipl and conflict resolution; and educational advancement.
Others are evangelism and global missions; youth and women empowerment; welfare and social responsibility; technology and media advancement; and financial transparency and constitutional strengthening.
The cleric, who is also the Supreme Head, Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria,
stressed the need for both the political and religious leaders in the country to work together towards fostering peace and unity, emphasising that “the foundation of a strong and united nation rests not only on political leadership but also on the ability of different faiths and communities to come together to pursue shared goals of prosperity, security, and love.”
Projecting for year 2026, the Spiritual Father declared: “I foresee a year of unprecedented economic growth, spiritual development, and social progress for our country and the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church. We are committed to expanding our influence as a beacon of hope in both the spiritual and socio-economic spheres.”
The Annual Conference and Convention of the Church for this year holds from Sunday November 2 to Sunday November 9, 2025, with sundry activities and with the theme: “85th of its kind is great mercy”.
