The Lagos State Magistrates’ Court in Yaba has returned a 37-year-old auxiliary nurse, Fisayo Ogedengbe, to police custody in connection with the controversial death of hip hop artiste Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad. The nurse is alleged to have administered injections to the late singer, leading to his death.
The court has also ordered the continued detention of Mohbad’s friend, Ayobani Sadiq, who is considered a suspect in the case.
However, the magistrate, Adeola Olatunbosun, granted bail in the amount of N20 million each to Mohbad’s former boss, Azeez Fashola (aka Naira Marley), and Lagos socialite Balogun Eletu (aka Sam Larry). Both were implicated in Mohbad’s death and were taken into police custody on October 6.
Magistrate Olatunbosun specified, “The defendants (Naira Marley and Sam Larry) are hereby granted bail in the sum of N20 million with three responsible sureties in like sum pending the legal advice from the Office of the Directorate of Public Prosecution.”
The magistrate also warned against any direct contact regarding the case, stating that such attempts could be recorded and potentially disclosed in open court proceedings.
The police continue their investigation into the case, and the magistrate has adjourned the matter until November 29 to await advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution.
