COVID 19 : Take Precautionary Measures

The Edo state Deputy Governor, Dr. Pius Odubu have urged the Edo people to endeavor to take precautionary measures necessary to curb the dreaded disease , COVID 19, which is presently ravaging the world which Nigeria is not an expectation.

According to the former deputy governor, Covid-19 is a virus that does not recognise race, color hence the need for continuous hold onto our faith, hope and love more than ever before.

Dr Odubu stated this in a statement made available to newsmen in Benin city, the Edo state capital.

The former deputy governor who recently distributed Relief materials which includes medical and perishable items to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital and the Vulnerable expressed appreciation to God for protecting Nigerians from the virus.

Dr. Pius Odubu said, ‘ people should not let their faith dwindle in the things of God as the world observed this difficult period,” and pleaded with Christians to use this period of Esther celebration to pray to God for protection against this dreaded disease that is ravaging the world.

Again, ”it is pertinent to congratulate all Christians in Edo State and indeed Nigeria for yet another opportunity to remind ourselves of the justification of our faith. This year easter festival is coming at a time the whole world is witnessing a global pandemic (Corona Virus) pandemic code name, Covid-19, which has brought all nations of the World to their knees with tens of thousands losing their lives.

‘With, Cardinal Luis Antonio Gokim Tagle saying in the midst of loss, uncertainty and suffering, something incredible is happening, we are noticing the bonds which forms our human family. Bonds that we previously took for granted or ignored.

“Today, as we all live in isolation and become vulnerable, the global suffering potent to us as humans shows that we need others to survive”

Yet the love of Christ must continues at it is in 2 Corinthians 5:14, which love seen in small and large gestures of hope and solidarity, is calling us to a new future and new way of living.

He noted that the current Covid-19 knows no borders but we must continue to hold on to our faith, hope and love more than ever before.

“At this time more than ever before, as Christians we must intercede for our nation and our dear state for continuous peace and progress as it relates to health he added.
