Doctors Piqued By Taraba specialist hospital Condition

Medical Doctors have expressed concerns over the poor sanitary condition of the Taraba Specialist Hospital, Jalingo, and have warned that it may soon turn to diseases contracting center.
The Doctors raised the alarm while speaking to Journalists on deplorable sanitary condition of the hospital in Jalingo on Thursday, saying the hospital which was the best health institution is fast turning to a ghost of itself, due to lack of funding. 

They decried that the institution’s poor environmental condition was no longer healthy for mankind, going by the current unusual diseases emanating from the hospital.

The doctors who spoke on the condition that, their names will not be mentioned lamented thst the hospital has been operating for the past three  years without running cost from the state government. 

” Can you imagine that the water tanker that usually supply  water to the hospital has stopped the supply because he has not been paid, and this has worsened the sanitary condition of the hospital.

It is unfortunate  that many patients were being readmitted for strange illmates after treating the initial situation that brought them to the hospital.” Said one of the Doctors. 

The Doctors said the strange ailment has been discovered to be due  to poor environmental hygiene which according them was affecting the hospital due to non release of running cost to the institution by Taraba state government for nearly three years and lack of other logistics attention.

“Our hospital, the Taraba state Specialist is no longer healthy for enyone coming here. Our internal environment is poor and unhealthy for humankind.

“We have not received running cost for nearly three years now to manage the place and many sensitive points of the hospital that needs regular maintenance.

“We have had countless cases, our findings has proven that the poor environmental condition of our hospital was responsible for the strange ailment in the hospital ”

“We wonder why governor Darius Ishaku has chosen to abandone the  institution which was the best in the state. They lamented. 

When contacted, the Taraba state Commissioner for health, Dr. Innocent Vakkai refered our correspondent to the Chief Medical Director of the hospital. Dr. Vakkai said the CMD was in a better position to explain why the hospital is in such situation.

But when National Trail visited the CMD of the hospital, Dr. Maiangwa Alex in his office, the chief medical director declined to speak on the matter.

Efforts by our correspondent to take pictures of the deplorable condition of the hospital was  resisted by the hospital management.
