*Urges Christians to vote credible candidates

Ahead of the 2023 general elections, Christians have again been enjoined to be active partakers in political movements, particularly in the collection of permanent voter cards to enable them vote for people of unassailable integrity, good character, capacity, and track records that are capable of taking the nation out of the woods.
The call was made on Sunday in Shao, Moro local government area of Kwara state, in a Communique issued at the end of the 15th Biannual Conference of the Joint District Church Council (DCC) comprising Ilorin, Omu-Aran, Igbaja, Oro-Ago, and Fate-Tanke DCCs.

Reverend Jacob Olukayode, said the Evangelical Church Winning All
(ECWA) as a denomination frowns at the issue of Muslim-Muslim ticket with respect to all elections in Nigeria, particularly in 2023.
In the same view, the Church has expressed disgust at government’s handling of corruption that has pervaded the polity with kid gloves, advocating appropriate sanctions for corrupt officials to serve as deterrent and instil fear in any person who intends to engage in the act.
“in due recognition of prayer being the master key and in obedience to the testament of God, we resolved to continue to pray for Nigeria our Jerusalem, the candidates vying for various political positions and those in authority for direction to uphold justice and care for the needy and vulnerable, destitute who are in their numbers in our midst.
As participation in politics has become increasingly necessary for formulation of better policies and laws to enthrone ethical and moral standards and protect the interest of the people, we resolved to continue to constantly sensitize Christians to be active partakers in political movements, particularly in the collection and use of their voters cards to vote for people of unassailable integrity, with good character, capacity, and track record to take the nation out of the woods, for the good of the citizens and with the strong belief that Nigeria will be great again.
“ECWA as a denomination frowns at the issue of Muslim-Muslim ticket with respect to all elections in Nigeria, particularly the forthcoming general elections holding in Nigeria in the year 2023.
“We viewed with grave concern, Government handling of corruption that pervades the polity with kid gloves and therefore advocated for appropriate sanctions for corrupt officials to serve as deterrent and instill fear in any person who intends to engage in the act,” the Communique added.
