Emir of Kano Urges First Lady to Convey Message of Economic Hardship to President

The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, has requested the First Lady, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, to convey a message to President Bola Tinubu about the severe economic challenges causing widespread suffering, hunger, and starvation among the Nigerian population. The Emir made this statement during Mrs. Tinubu’s visit to Kano for the commissioning of a multi-purpose hall at the faculty of Law, Maryam Abacha American University.

Expressing concern about the dire economic situation, the Emir emphasized the need for urgent attention to address hunger and starvation. He acknowledged that while the issue did not start with the current government, the situation has worsened and requires immediate action.

The Emir also highlighted the issue of insecurity in the country, urging the government to take more serious measures to address the threats. He mentioned receiving messages from the people regarding the planned relocation of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to Lagos, calling for clear communication and transparency on the matter.

Commending the First Lady for her care for the well-being and welfare of children and women, the Emir urged her to actualize her Renewed Hope Initiative Pet Program, emphasizing the importance of supporting the less privileged.

In response, Mrs. Tinubu expressed gratitude for the warm reception and assured the Emir that she would convey his message and appeals to President Tinubu. She encouraged Nigerians to be steadfast and support her husband with prayers, assuring that the challenges would be tackled head-on soon.
