Enviromental Disasters; Borno Govt To Plant 10m seedlings-Council Boss

Borno State Government is to plant five million trees in 2023 across the state The Care Taker Chairman of Hawul Local Government Honourable Inuwa Bwala disclosed this in a programme on Harmony Radio Biu. He lamented that the tree planting campaign is in fulfillment by the state government to proffer solutions to environmental problems ranging from deforestation , desertification, soil and land degradation, floods and soil erosion.
In addition he said, Hawul Local Government undertook free distribution of different types of seedlings to communities and individuals to plant and protect the environment and improve the green culture. The Chairman explained that in an effort to reduce cutting of trees for charcoal, Government has set up law prohibiting cutting of trees, as trees helps in balancing the ecosystems.Hawul Local Government has also taken measures bin preventing cutting of trees by enlightenment program to communities in Harmony Radio. Bwala expressed gratitude and appreciation to Governor Babagana Umara for given him the opportunity to serve his people for the second term and appointing a Son of the Soil as a commissioner, who was chosen based on determination. And thanked people of Hawul for their support, understanding and cooperation.
