FANFARES AS SHETTIMA ARRIVES CHINA

Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima along with, Ambassador Baba Ahmad Jidda, Nigerias Ambassador to the Peoples Republic of China have set the tone for a robust outing at the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, holding between the 17th and 18th in Benjing, China.
Ambassador Baba Ahmad Jidda, who was at the head of a high-level delegation to receive the Vice President in Beijing, on Monday, said there are very high hopes for greater collaboration between the two countries.
As a prelude to the main event, he explained, a group of West African Ambassadors, Home Based Officers, and Nigerian Community in China were at hand and ecstatic in being part of showcasing Nigeria in Benjing.
According to Ambassador Baba Ahmad Jidda in his welcome address, while receiving the August guest, the Nigeria/China, relationship has blossomed over the years since 197, and that the visit of the Vice President would serve as a further step in cementing bilateral cooperation and synergy between Nigeria and China.
Jidda told the highly elated Vice President, Kashim Shettima, that participants from other countries have been eager to meet Shettima, who has been the face of Nigeria at international meets.
The presence of diplomats from sister African countries to welcome the Vice President is a further testimony of the very high expectations from Nigeria at the summitz Judda added.
Meanwhile, Vice President Kashim Shettima has urged Africans to embrace the spirit of cooperation unity and integration for peaceful coexistence and for democracy to thrive in the West African and Africa as a whole.
He commended the show of African solidarity in seeking to kick-start a lasting democratic culture, even as he assured Nigerias’ willingness to be the arrowhead.
A luncheon for the vice President ended with, the delegations being treated to a variety of Nigerian cuisines at the residence of the Ambassador .
