Fed Government Tasks On Citizens Security

Assistant Parish Priest, St. Peters Catholic Church,Ugbor,Benin City, Ven. Rev. Fr. Jude Oriah has called on government at all levels to put an end to the incessant killings of innocent Nigerians by herdsmen and terrorist group in parts of the country.

Oriah said the government should without delay posses the boldness and courage to speak the truth at all times in the task of addressing the spate of insecurity in the country.

He made the admonition at the annual celebration of the feast of the Birth of Saint John the Baptist in Benin City with the theme,”the courageous attitude of John the Baptist:The patron saint of Knights of St. John International.”

Oriah said Christians and particularly government must live like Christ, be bold, speak the truth and be courageous and fearless in their daily lives, noting that the society will be better for it, if all and sundry learn to speak only the truth at all times in the face of all forms of adversity just as Christ Jesus.

He said the killing in parts of the country is worrisome and has put the lives of Christians, farmers at risk as they cannot access their farms anymore for fear of being killed, or raped by herdsmen.

Brigadier General Sylvester Egbase, Grand Commander, Benin Grand Commandery, Knights of St.John and Noble Lady Elizabeth Omoijuanfo, Grand Respected President, Benin Grand Ladies Auxiliary both emphasized the need for Christians to uphold Christian virtues like the saint John the Baptist for God to bless and protect the country.
