The Federal Government has established a 15-member Inter-Ministerial Committee tasked with organizing Nigeria’s 63rd Independence Day celebration. Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and committee chairman, unveiled the planned activities for this significant event. The committee’s responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and executing the approved activities for Nigeria’s 63rd Independence Day on October 1, 2023.
Among the scheduled events, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will deliver a presidential broadcast on October 1st. Committee members comprise key figures from various ministries and agencies, highlighting the significance of this milestone in recognizing the nation’s heroes and showcasing governmental achievements in addressing social and economic challenges. The committee has a tight schedule, including a world press briefing on September 25th, a Church Service on October 1st, Juma’at Service on September 29th, a Symposium/Public Lecture on September 28th, the Presidential Broadcast on October 1st, and a Parade on October 2nd, 2023.
