Former Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, has made a visit to George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), at his office in Abuja.

Both Keyamo and Akume, who was formerly the governor of Benue State, served as ministers in the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration. In a tweet posted on his verified Twitter account on Wednesday morning, Keyamo shared that he had a courtesy visit with his former colleague in the cabinet on the previous day.

Keyamo’s tweet read: “Yesterday, I visited my former colleague in Cabinet and our new SGF in the in-coming Cabinet, H.E, Distinguished Senator George Akume in his office.”

The visit by Festus Keyamo to George Akume, the former Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, occurred a day after Keyamo successfully underwent Senate screening and clearance for his ministerial position.

During the screening on Monday, Keyamo faced a challenging moment when a motion was raised to suspend his screening. However, after Senate President Godswill Akpabio’s intervention, Keyamo offered an apology to the Senate for previously ignoring invitations extended by the 9th National Assembly.
