Tragedy struck in Los Angeles as Johnny Wactor, a beloved veteran of the TV soap General Hospital, was fatally shot in a robbery gone awry.
The incident occurred on Saturday when Wactor, aged 37, encountered masked thieves attempting to steal his car, mistaking them for tow truck drivers. Reports suggest that Wactor intervened before the situation escalated, but the thieves opened fire, resulting in his untimely death.
According to Dailymail, Wactor was leaving his side job at a rooftop bar in the vicinity of West Pico Boulevard and South Hope Street around 3:25 am, accompanied by a female colleague, when he encountered the assailants.
The Los Angeles Police Department stated that the perpetrators, all wearing masks, shot Wactor before fleeing the scene in a separate vehicle. Despite prompt medical attention, Wactor succumbed to his injuries after being transported to a local hospital.
The masked suspects remain at large, and their identities or descriptions have yet to be disclosed.
