Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON has received with deep sorrow the tragic death of an esteemed Islamic scholar, Sheikh Ibrahim H. Musa Albani Kuri, who was brutally murdered by heartless thieves who invaded his house located at Tabra area along the bypass in Gombe in the wee hours.

Governor Inuwa, who attended the funeral prayer of the deceased cleric at the Bolari Izala Mosque in Gombe, condemned in strong terms this appalling criminal act that he said has shaken the sense of security and prevailing peace Gombe State has been enjoying.

“We want to reassure the citizens of Gombe State that the government remains resolute in its efforts to uphold the safety and security of its people. We will continue to take comprehensive measures and apply the superiority of our force to clear and flush our criminals in any part of the state, as well as bring those responsible for this heinous crime to justice to prevent such incidents from recurring. The memory of Sheikh Ibrahim Albani Kuri will serve as a reminder that we must remain vigilant and steadfast in our pursuit of a society where everyone can live in peace and without fear”.

He urged the people of the state to continue to come together in solidarity, and always uphold the values of empathy and unity that our religious leaders tirelessly preach and promote.

“The entire state mourns the loss of this scholar and preacher whose teachings and guidance have touched the lives of countless Muslims.

Governor Inuwa said the late Sheikh Ibrahim was a fountain of knowledge, understanding, and unity, whose teachings transcended boundaries and brought people together. His loss, he said, will be deeply felt by all, and his legacy will forever inspire the people.

The Governor, on behalf of the government and people of Gombe State, conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, and the Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah wa Iqamatissunnah as well as the entire Muslim Ummah over the sad event.

He prayed Almighty Allah to accept his shahadah and grant him Aljannat Firdaus.
