Gov Alia Appreciates President Tinubu Over Award, Commencement Of Work On 266.4Km Makurdi- Enugu Road

Benue state governor Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia, has expressed appreciation to the President Ahmed Tinubu led federal government, for approving the contract for the dualization of the Makurdi- Otukpo-9th Mile-Enugu road project.

The governor who gave the appreciation Thursday, during the flag off ceremony by the minister for Works Dave Umahi held at Apir in Makurdi local government of Benue State, assured the federal ministry of works and the contractor handling the project China Habour Engineering Company,CHEC, of the state government support and partnership to ensure that the project is completed on time.

The governor in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary Tersoo Kula equally expressed appreciation to God for granting the state a new leaf under his watch as well as thanked Benue people for their patience.

While expressing his confidence and belief in China Habour Engineering Company,CHEC, to do a good job, the governor charged the people of the area and the state in general, to support the contractor in the area of security and other ways they could, for speedy delivery of the job.

He also appealed to Benue people to continue to support his administration and that of the president Ahmed Tinubu to ensure the over all development and progress of the state and country.

In his speech during the flag-off, the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, commended governor Alia for his determination to develop the state, especially given his numerous visits to his office in Abuja before the flag off, expressing appreciation to president Tinubu for approving the project and other numerous roads across the country, adding that the move will ease movement of people.

Umahi equally lauded efforts of governor Alia in transforming the state within a short time with the springing up of projects especially the ongoing road projects in Makurdi and other parts of the state.

The former Ebonyi state governor thanked governor Alia for assuring that an enabling environment would be created by government for the speedy construction of work.

On their part, the CHEC team promised to do their best to deliver a good job on the 266.4km road project, which according to sources would be funded in person between the federal government of Nigeria and the Export- Import Bank of China.
